Organizing a neighborhood clean-up is a wonderful opportunity to get to know your neighbors and beautify your neighborhood at the same time. Consider applying for a neighborhood grant from the Neighborhood Services. Grants are available from $25-$500. When completeing your application include the cost of the roll-off plus $79 per roll-off for the tipping fee. Be sure the trash hauler understands their Landfill fee will be $79. No matter how messy or clean your neighborhood is, it can always use some help. Look down the street in front of your house... are there any old wrappers or trash lying around? Then get busy and call some friends over to help.

Hispanic Heritage Month in Miami can be a bit different from other American cities. For one, we have the largest Hispanic population of any city in the U.S., and our neighbors come from lots of countries like Cuba of course, but also Nicaragua, Colombia, Venezuela, Dominican Republic, Argentina and more. In some ways, we recognize Hispanic Heritage every day!
Hispanic Heritage Month celebrates Hispanic heritage and culture and the contributions Hispanic Americans have made to the United States. After 20 years, President Ronald Reagan expanded Hispanic Heritage Week in 1988 to a month long celebration from September 15 to October 15. Each year, the President issues an annual proclamation.
